In recognition of his recent successful pursuits, Jack Harlow has received a distinguished prize in Louisville, Kentucky, where he was born and raised.
The “What’s Poppin'” rapper accepted the Thomas A. Edison Award on Wednesday (February 1) at a Greater Louisville Inc. (GLI) event, which is a yearly networking party.
The honor is the most recent one the “First Class” singer has received; it recognizes his accomplishments both on and off the main stage as well as his dedication to representing his community.
“People ask me where I live and I tell them I don’t live in Atlanta or New York. I don’t live in California. I live in Louisville, Kentucky,” the Louisville-born rapper said during his acceptance speech (via Lousiville Business First).
“I try to make sure I let the world know if you want to do a photo shoot, if you want to take a meeting, if you want to shoot a commercial, if you want to get in the studio and make some music you’re going to have to book that connection flight and come.”
He continued “”We’re going to do some incredible things in the city over the next few years, I promise you.”
The honor was previously given to Jefferson Community and Technical College’s culinary school alumna and renowned chef Damaris Phillips in 2020.
