J. Cole is stepping into the podcast world with Inevitable, a limited audio series recounting his rise to Hip Hop fame and featuring unreleased music.
Announced on Sunday (Nov. 17), the series is co-hosted by Cole, longtime manager Ibrahim “Ib” Hamad, and collaborator Scott Lazer, known for directing Cole’s concert films and music videos like “Kevin’s Heart.” Described as a raw and reflective exploration, Inevitable tracks Cole’s journey from aspiring rapper to stardom, weaving music and personal stories throughout.
A trailer posted on social media reveals the idea began in 2022 when the team rediscovered old demos. “We ended up tracking Cole’s entire career arc over eight days,” Lazer said, highlighting moments from music to personal relationships.
Season one includes 10 episodes, with the first premiering Monday (Nov. 18) at 6 PM ET on the official Inevitable website. Access costs $10 or more, ahead of Cole’s seventh album, The Fall-Off, which is still in progress.
