It has been fascinating to observe NLE Choppa’s personal development, such as his decision to become vegan and his involvement in activism, and it is very clear in the brand-new video for his song “Champions.”
The D.A. Got That Dope-produced song, which was released on Wednesday (May 31), has a few motivational bars from the Memphis native about overcoming challenges. It also had a number of A-list sportsmen, like Kyrie Irving, Floyd Mayweather, Odell Beckham Jr., and Olympic gold medalist swimmer Michael Andrews.
Choppa recently visited the Memphis-based Cornerstone Prep Denver Campus pupils to congratulate them on winning his reading competition; the elementary students reportedly read more than 40 million words.
Later in the movie, we see Choppa taking part in the protest he organized a few months ago in memory of Tyre Nichols, another Memphis native.
“Let’s go,” I can see the entire planet sitting in my hand from the peak of the moon in space,”Let’s go. We’re going to break the rules, and we’re going to create new ones as well.He raps in the song, “I can’t fall or slip, I gotta stand tall, that’s what a leader do (A leader do).”
On the hook, he says, “Ayy, we gon’ ball, never fall, the champions (Champions)/The champions (Champions), the champions (Champions)/Ayy, we gon’ ball, never fall, I put my head up/And told ’em, “Crown me”/My ring finger got a rock on it, rock on it.”
The rapper recently hailed his daughter Chloe for sparing him from suicidal thoughts in related news.
Over the weekend, the rapper from Memphis posted a montage of himself playing with his three-year-old daughter on Instagram.
NLE Choppa noted in the post’s caption how his child “changed his life” at a time when he was “contemplating suicide.”
He wrote, “This is my ‘ANGEL’.” “Clover literally changed my life. I knew that longevity in my life was necessary for you to have in yours, which is why my spiritual awakening took place. Therefore, I’d like to thank Clover for helping me mature more quickly than anything else in my life.
“You Are the Reason I Love You, You Are the Reason I Want Better, and You Are the Reason I Live,” he continued. When I found out you were pregnant, you gave me something to not only look forward to, but something to live for! Before you were here, I was considering suicide.
