Ice Spice has revealed information about the first time she met Nicki Minaj, her idol, and it was reportedly quite emotional.
The Bronx native recently opened out in-depth to Apple Music’s Zane Lowe about her emotional first encounter with Nicki Minaj, which she claims she manifested. She revealed that despite trying to have a cool head, she was actually nervous.
Ice Spice remembered, “I was, like, nervous to get there.” “Okay, I’m chilling. I was like that once I got there. However, when I overheard her say something, I started to feel uneasy.
“I started crying when she gave me a hug… I sobbed, but I turned and left. I didn’t say anything to her, for example. I simply think, “Bro, just the journey,” You know, meeting Nicki was wonderful and all, but for me, it mostly just felt like, “This is a full circle moment.”
Since then, the two have worked together on two of this summer’s most popular songs, “Princess Diana (Remix)” and “Barbie World” from the soundtrack to the Barbie movie.
