Troodie, a Charlotte-based dining and tech startup founded by Howard and Cornell alum Taylor Davis, has launched as the first AI-powered social commerce platform linking influencer content directly to real-world diner activity. The Black-owned company is introducing a new way for restaurants, creators, and diners to connect—just in time for National Black Business Month.
The platform tackles a major challenge in the restaurant industry: identifying which marketing and influencer campaigns actually bring customers in. Troodie’s AI tracks diner visits and ties them to influencer content, offering restaurants sales-based attribution, first-party customer data, and a curated creator marketplace that matches restaurants with influencers based on audience fit and measurable performance.
“I’m thrilled to finally share Troodie with the world,” said founder Taylor Davis. “We built it for food lovers and travelers who enjoy discovering new spots through authentic experiences. Troodie lets users filter, organize, and share restaurant recommendations easily, while restaurants benefit from meaningful visibility and real results.”
At launch, Troodie already has over 70 restaurants and 30 creators in its network. The app allows restaurants to track which influencers drive traffic, creators to earn based on performance instead of likes, and diners to curate trusted recommendations.
Launching in Charlotte was a strategic move, with Davis calling it a “vibrant hub for dining, innovation, and entrepreneurship—especially for Black founders.”
Key Features of Troodie:
• Sales-Based Attribution: Connects influencer campaigns to real diner visits.
• First-Party Diner Data: Provides restaurants with valuable marketing insights.
• Creator Marketplace: Matches restaurants with influencers using performance metrics.
• Personalized Recommendations: Makes restaurant discovery and sharing seamless for diners.
As one of the few Black women leading a food-tech startup, Davis aims to merge innovation, representation, and community through Troodie. The platform is now available on iOS via the Apple Store. More information can be found at TroodieApp.com or on social media @troodieapp.
