‘Hide & Seek’ Takes Stormzy To U.K. Top 10

Stormzy secures a 26th top 10 with “Hide & Seek” (through Def Jam). Also, Sam Smith and Kim Petras’ “Unholy” collaboration spends a full month at the top of the chart.

With “Hide & Seek,” a single from Stormzy’s upcoming third album This Is What I Mean, the homegrown hip-hop star makes the week’s best debut at No. 7. Release date for This Is due Nov. 25.

Aitch and Anne-“Psycho” Marie’s (Atlantic) collaboration is currently ascending. Five weeks after its release, “Psycho” ends the chart week up 9-6 after contending for a top 5 spot on the midweek survey.

Seven new songs enter the U.K. top 40, including British rapper Central Cee, whose song “One Up” (Central Cee), debuts at No. 17. The Londoner’s 14th UK top 40 success is “One Up.”

With Being Funny In A Foreign Language, 1975 has this week’s best-selling album in the United Kingdom (Dirty Hit). The album tracks “Oh Caroline” and “I’m In Love With You,” debuted at Nos. 29 and 34, respectively, on the Official U.K. Singles Chart, marking the British pop-rock group’s 11th and 12th top 40 performances.

Lil Baby also scores two top 40 debuts on the Official Chart, which also was released on Friday (Oct. 21),  With “California Breeze” (No. 26) and “Real Spill” (No. 36). Both songs are taken from the American rapper’s most recent release, It’s Only Me (via Motown/Quality Control), which debuts this week at No. 3, a new career high.

For the third time in the top 40, labelmate Lil Yachty’s song “Poland,” which debuted at No. 30, soars into the top tier.

With “Edging” (Columbia), the American pop-punk trio’s first collaboration with Tom DeLonge in ten years, Blink 182 makes an immediate impression. The song, which is taken from the upcoming studio album by the reunited band, debuted at No. 31 and became Blink’s 11th top 40 success.

“Unholy” by Sam Smith and Kim Petras (EMI), which has occupied the top spot on the U.K. chart for four weeks in a row, is currently at No. 1. Smith just revealed the tracklist and release date for their upcoming fourth studio album, Gloria, which is scheduled to arrive on January 27, 2023.

The EDM song “Miss You,” in two different versions, is currently flying high on the charts. And also Oliver Tree and Robin Schulz’s collaboration (through Atlantic) soars 28-9, while Southstar’s “Miss You” (B1/Ministry Of Sound) also soars 62-23. Both take up their highest positions.
