At Drake’s Apollo Theater event, Jim Jones had the opportunity to meet New York City Mayor Eric Adams, and the two plan to talk about initiatives to make Harlem better.
The collaboration took place on Sunday, January 22 at the Apollo Theater in Harlem, New York, on the second night of Drake’s back-to-back performances. Jimmy posted a video of the two conversing in his dressing area, and viewers can see the rapper giving the mayor his phone number to set up a meeting in the future.
“Got the chance to meet th @nycmayor,” Capo wrote. “Got a call from a friend said he was comin to The concert last night and he wanted to stop by my dressing to meet me. Very fly I thought to myself I also thought to myself how can I make this introduction the most impactful.
“This my first time meetin any mayor from ny and he’s a black mayor which I’m a very proud to see someone who looks like me in a position of power and is taking the steps to help turn the city round from experience and political position.”
The Dipset member added that despite his lack of political acumen, he still cares about his neighborhood and has done a lot over the years to improve it.
