Gunna Draws Gucci Mane Comparisons After Flexing Physical Transformation

Since pleading his way out of prison in the YSL RICO case last year, Gunna has been keeping a quiet profile, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t been working hard – at least at the gym.

The DS4Ever rapper can be seen having a considerably thinner and more athletic figure in comparison to his previously obese frame in a new photo that went viral online on Monday (May 15).

Gunna can be seen in the photo chilling out with buddies while sporting a larger, more sculpted set of arm and shoulder muscles. Fans online were definitely interested in him after his weight drop.

One supporter tweeted: “Wow on real shit props to him for getting in shape,” and another added: “goddam bro been hitting the gym.”

Some people even made the comparison between Gunna and Gucci Mane, whose dramatic physical makeover in 2016 following his release from prison sparked rumors that he was a “clone.”

One tweet stated, “They cloned Gunna like they did Gucci Mane.”

The image was released soon after Gunna hinted at a musical comeback in response to criticism of his aforementioned plea agreement in the complex RICO case involving his and Young Thug’s YSL group.

Gunna, where [the fuck] are you? demanded a fan page dedicated to the Drip or Drown hitmaker earlier this month while sharing a portion of an unreleased song on Instagram.

He responded, “I’m OTW,” and included his distinctive blue P emoji as an homage to his 2022 hit, “Pushin’ P.”

After being labeled a “snitch” for entering a guilty plea in the YSL RICO case in December, which allowed him to regain his freedom and avoid trial, the Atlanta native must now work to win over the Hip Hop community. Legal authorities claim that it unintentionally made Young Thug’s struggle for freedom much more difficult.

The accusations have been vigorously and repeatedly refuted by Gunna and his legal counsel.

While public figures like Jim Jones, Boosie Badazz, and 6ix9ine have criticized Gunna’s choice, Thug has not yet spoken on the matter. When a link to Gunna’s music emerged in the YSL founder’s Instagram account last month, it seemed as though he was supporting his “Ski” coworker. Less than a day later, the link was taken off.

It’s unclear whether Gunna will even continue to represent YSL. Several YSL members, including co-founder Mondo and fellow rapper Lil Gotit, have disavowed Wunna despite his social media declarations of loyalty to the label after his release from custody.

This year, there were rumors that he was possibly planning to leave YSL for his upcoming album.

Akademiks predicted during a live stream in February that “his contract gets negotiated where there’s either a buyout or he’s gonna go to Atlantic Records.”

Many people believe that Atlantic Records may sign Gunna soon, whenever he decides to release it, simply because of the conflict and discord within YSL and what is happening with Thug. His project wouldn’t benefit from YSL the label continuing to work on it.
