Google One, The Cloud Storage Service By Google, Exceeds 100 Million Subscribers Milestone.

In recent times, Google has made adjustments to its complimentary storage services, notably in 2021 when it discontinued unlimited storage for Google Photos.

These nudges towards upgrades seem to be yielding results: Sundar Pichai, the CEO of Google, has revealed that the company’s subscription service, Google One, has now surpassed the milestone of 100 million subscribers.

Launched in May 2018, this paid subscription service provides users with additional storage for various Google services like Photos, Google Drive, and Gmail. Additionally, it offers features such as a VPN and dark web monitoring.

In recent times, Google has reduced some of its free storage offerings, particularly in 2021 when it terminated unlimited storage for Google Photos. Presently, the company offers 15GB of free storage per Google Account, which is shared across all services. If users accumulate a substantial amount of data on Google Photos or Google Drive, they may quickly exceed the 15GB limit.

Google One offers various subscription plans, starting at $1.99 per month for 100GB of storage, while $9.99 per month provides 2TB. Recently, Google introduced an “AI Premium” Google One plan along with rebranding its Bard AI chatbot as Gemini. This plan includes the Gemini Advanced Premium AI chatbot, which is independently priced at $19.99 per month, as part of the 2TB Google One subscription.
