2024 proved to be a productive year for Future. In March, he collaborated with Metro Boomin to release their highly anticipated album We Don’t Trust You. The project features appearances from Travis Scott, Playboi Carti, Rick Ross, The Weeknd, and more. Kendrick Lamar also joined the track “Like That,” which sparked a public feud with Drake that captured headlines for months.
In April, Future and Metro dropped a follow-up project titled We Still Don’t Trust You. This album included guest appearances from ASAP Rocky, Ty Dolla Sign, Lil Baby, and J. Cole.
Later in September, Future released his seventeenth mixtape, Mixtape Pluto. Despite the volume of new music, the Atlanta rapper recently hinted at another project. Taking to Instagram, Future posted a simple announcement: “New Tape OTW,” leaving fans to speculate about what’s next.
Hints at Future Projects Continue
Future’s recent post isn’t the only sign of more music. Earlier this month, producer Wheezy shared an Instagram Story teasing a potential sequel to Future’s 2017 mixtape with Young Thug, Super Slimey. The story featured a glowing Super Slimey 2 sign, fueling speculation.
Additionally, in a recent episode of Spotify’s RapCaviar series Day in the Life, Lil Baby mentioned working on a joint tape with Future. He revealed that Young Thug, recently released from prison in October, also wants to be involved. “Me and Future was working on a joint tape,” Lil Baby explained. “Now, Slime came home… you know he ain’t goin’ for that, he like ‘sh*t.’ It’s actually Thug’s idea. When he was in jail, he was like, ‘Call Pluto, I want y’all to do a tape together.’”
