Fuerza Regida were honored with the Humanitarian Award at Variety Hitmakers 2025 on Saturday (Dec. 6), recognizing the group’s continued commitment to underserved communities in both the U.S. and Mexico. The award placed them alongside fellow honorees including Sabrina Carpenter, Tyler, the Creator, Rosé, Mustard, and The Marías.
During the acceptance speech, frontman Jesús Ortiz Paz reflected on the group’s path and the values that guide them. He noted that despite the awards and nominations they’ve received; including holding the record for the highest-charting Mexican album globally, this honor holds deeper meaning. “This award is the most important award because we are for the people. This is our dream,” he said. JOP also shared a quote from his father that shaped his perspective: “Where one eats, everybody eats.”
The recognition comes at the end of a major year for the band. Their ninth studio album, 111XPANTIA, arrived in May and debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, becoming the highest-charting Spanish-language album by a duo or group in history. Fuerza Regida also reached the Spotify Top 10 Global Artists of 2025, became Mexico’s most-streamed act, and earned Harvard University’s Trailblazer Award.
With community work at the forefront and career milestones continuing to rise, Fuerza Regida’s impact now extends well beyond music.
