For A "Special" Remix & Bond Over Beyoncé Fandom, SZA And Lizzo Collaborate

Check out “Special’s Official remix, which Lizzo and SZA collaborated on, below.

The song, which was released on Friday (February 10), had the SOS singer taking the lead from Lizzo and beginning with a verse that was all about confidence and self-love.

“Woke up this mornin’ to somebody judgin’ me/ No surprise they judgin’ me, don’t know who I’m ‘posed to be/ I’m just actin’ up, I’m crass as fuck, and never sayin’ sorry/ Found out in the end that I can only do it for me/ You call it sensitive and I call it superpower/ You just lack empathy ’cause you think it gives you power,” SZA sings.

Lizzo comes in on the second verse: “Could you imagine a world where everybody’s the same / And you could cancel a girl ’cause she just wanted to change? / How could you throw fuckin’ stones if you ain’t been through her pain? / That’s why we feel so alone, that’s why we feel so much shame.”

The song was released following a conversation between the two on Instagram Live in which they discussed their shared respect for Beyoncé. SZA was taken aback when Lizzo disclosed that she had told Bey she would be attending three of her performances on her Renaissance Tour.
