The Fitchburg Art Museum has announced the acquisition of two new photographic works by Boston-based visual artist and photographer George Annan. The selected pieces—Resident Parking, June ‘24 and Highland Park, March ‘24—are both inkjet prints acquired through the museum’s Sinon Collection Fund.
Annan, known for his nuanced approach to street and urban photography, continues to explore themes of space, identity, and place through his fine art practice. While he maintains a portfolio of commercial work for clients such as Converse, The Boston Globe, and The Wall Street Journal, Annan’s personal work delves into layered visual storytelling within familiar cityscapes and overlooked environments.

Fitchburg Art Museum’s acquisition highlights the institution’s ongoing commitment to supporting contemporary voices and expanding its photography collection with artists whose work bridges commercial and fine art practices.
