Hyde Park has welcomed its first legal cannabis shop with the opening of Firehouse, a dispensary co-owned by former Boston firefighter Sean Berte and Roxbury activist Armani White. The two, once arrested for marijuana-related charges in 2020, have now established a licensed business in the same field that once brought legal consequences.
Located at 883 Hyde Park Avenue, Firehouse is operating under soft opening hours from 12–5 p.m., Monday through Sunday, with extended hours to be announced in the future. The store adds to Boston’s legal cannabis market while also representing a locally owned and Black-equity-owned business.

Actor and producer Tremana White highlighted the milestone in a recent post:
“After 8 long years, @firehouse_ma is OPEN!!!! Soft opening hours are 12-5, Monday through Sunday. Extended hours to come! Go get your gas with my brother @ziggy_617 and @s.b3rt3!!! Come support a local and Black-equity-owned cannabis business in Boston. The addy is 883 Hyde Park Ave. Thank you! STOP, DROP, AND ROLL 😮💨😮💨😮💨”
The launch of Firehouse marks a significant moment for both Berte and White, turning past challenges into an opportunity to create space in Boston’s growing cannabis industry.
