Fat Joe Predicts Kendrick Lamar and SZA Will Become Hip Hop’s Greatest Rapper-Singer Duo.

Fat Joe has predicted that Kendrick Lamar and SZA will become the greatest rapper and singer duo of all time.

On his podcast Joe and Jada, Fat Joe talked about how the two longtime collaborators are making a strong impact in Hip Hop.

He said, “They’re going to be best friends forever. Right now, they have about six or seven songs together. They are number one. They could take the top spot, 100%. They work really well together. If things don’t get rocky, they’re going to take that spot.” He also added, “People call Ja Rule and Ashanti the greatest duo, but Kendrick and SZA are both solo artists, so they could be even bigger.”

Kendrick Lamar and SZA recently made chart history with their number one hit “Luther.”

The song now holds the record for the most weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for a track with co-billed solo male and female artists, beating Diddy and Faith Evans’ 1994 Biggie tribute “I’ll Be Missing You.” Only Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men’s “One Sweet Day” has spent more time at number one.

“Luther” is also the biggest Hip Hop single of the decade, surpassing Roddy Ricch’s “The Box,” which spent 11 weeks at number one in 2020. The song has now spent thirteen weeks at the top after its release in November.

Earlier, SZA shared advice she once received from Kendrick Lamar during an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show. She said Kendrick told her to imagine watching herself from above while performing. She explained, “He sees himself while he’s performing. That changed a lot for me because when I watched myself from afar, I realized, ‘This is not what I want to see. I want to see something different. I want to turn up!’”

She added, “After that, I started bringing a different energy and spirit to my performances. That third person watching — Kendrick’s also a Gemini, so maybe that’s why. He’s kind of split in half.”
