Trillstatik 2, which is scheduled to be released later this month, is the newest album by Bun B and Statik Selektah.
On December 7, the sequel to 2019’s Trillstatik will be live-recorded in New York. Fans can watch in real-time on Twitch between the hours of 2 p.m. and 2 a.m. EST. The album will be made available on December 9—two days later.
Facetimes on Instagram with Statik Bun is preparing for his journey to New York City at home in Houston. Bun adds, referring to how cold it will be in NYC, “I’m in here trying to get clothes as it’s going to be brick in New York.” “I have to dress like a New Yorker for y’all; I can’t dress like I’m in Houston.”
Then, when Statik Selektah asks Bun B if he “peeped the beats” he sent him before Wednesday’s live-streamed recording session, Bun B suggests that a double album might be in the works due to the number of possible special guests that might visit the recording studio. He explains, “I’m not saying we have to do a double album, but we probably need to choose enough beats for one.”
2019 saw the exclusive TIDAL release of the debut Trillstatik album, which featured appearances from Method Man, Westside Gunn, Fat Joe, Big K.R.I.T., Talib Kweli, and other artists.
Bun B’s Trill Burgers, meantime, have been churning out mouthwatering burgers all year and were named the “best burger in America” by Good Morning America this past summer.
An overjoyed Bun B accepted the award in Times Square in July and photographed with GMA co-host Michael Strahan while holding a trophy and a $10,000 cash from the morning program.
At the Rock The Bells Festival, Bun B’s Trill Burger received the official Hip-Hop seal of approval from Jadakiss, Busta Rhymes, and Fat Joe, among others.
After taking a mouthful, Kiss compared the burger to a Dr. Dre beat and then created the most enticing musical production cocktail he could imagine.
“It’s like a Dr. Dre beat, mixed with Preemo, mixed with Jesus Christ,” he said. “The best in the world. They ain’t just boosting my brother up, this shit is amazing. I can’t even front, it’s incredible. I don’t need nothing to drink it’s crazy!”
The burger was dubbed America’s No. 1 by Fat Joe, who also requested “Give me about three more boxes so I can give them to the family.” Busta Rhymes’ first Trill Burger rendered him speechless while Ice Cube’s “It Was a Good Day” blared from the speakers of Forest Hills Stadium.
