Marshall is currently on his way to the Hall of Fame after assisting LL Cool J get inducted in 2021.
Eminem’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2022 was announced today (May 4). Em will be joined onstage by such famous artists as Carly Simon, Jimmy Jam, Dolly Parton, Pat Benatar, Eurythmics, Duran Duran, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, and Lionel Richie. On November 5, in a ceremony to be held in Los Angeles, the complete class will be admitted into the Hall.
Denaun Porter, Eminem’s longtime buddy, producer, and D12 member, says, “It’s a happy moment.” “Home team wins,” you say.
Due to the fact that this will be Eminem’s first eligible year, he will be the lone first ballot hall of famer for the 2022 class. Before breaking out on the world with his 1999 major label debut The Slim Shady LP, he would first release his debut album, Infinite, in 1996.
With estimated global record sales of over 220 million, Eminem is one of the best-selling musicians of all time. His song “Lost Yourself” from 2002 would become the first hip-hop artist to win the Academy Award for Best Original Song.
He joins Jay-Z and LL Cool J (2021), The Notorious B.I.G. (2020), 2Pac (2017), N.W.A. (2016), Public Enemy (2012), The Beastie Boys (2012), Run DMC (2009), and Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five (2007) as the ninth hip-hop artist (and fifth solo act) to be inducted.
