Eminem has teased the release of his next single, “Temporary,” from his latest album The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce). On Tuesday (October 1), the rap icon shared a nostalgic Instagram post featuring a throwback photo of his daughter, Hailie Jade, taken during *The Eminem Show* album cover shoot. His caption read: “It won’t be too long… #Temporary,” hinting at the upcoming single.
The photo also included a heartwarming message from Hailie, who was around six years old at the time, that read: “To my daddy love ya from Hailie.”
While a release date for “Temporary” has yet to be announced, the track will be the fourth single from Eminem’s latest album, following “Houdini,” “Tobey” featuring Big Sean and BabyTron, and “Somebody Save Me” with Jelly Roll.
Hailie Jade has previously spoken about “Temporary” and “Somebody Save Me,” which both touch on personal experiences involving her and her siblings. On her *Just a Little Shady* podcast, she shared her emotional reaction to the tracks. “I audibly sobbed I think for both songs, but especially ‘Temporary,’” she revealed.
Reflecting on the music videos and her childhood, Hailie expressed gratitude for how her parents shielded her from difficult times. However, as an adult, she now feels emotional thinking about the potential loss of her father during his struggles with addiction.
The deeply personal track “Temporary,” which features Skylar Grey on the hook, is written as a message to Hailie to help her cope with life after Eminem’s passing. One lyric poignantly says: “So Hailie Jade, I wrote you this song / To help you cope with life now that I’m gone.”
With *The Death of Slim Shady* delivering raw emotion, fans are eagerly awaiting the release of this heartfelt single.
