Eminem Doubles Down On His Greatest Rappers List To Redman's Approval

To the delight of Redman, Eminem is reiterating his list of the best rappers of all time by sporting a T-shirt that supports his selections from more than 20 years ago.

On July 26, the Def Squad rapper posted a picture of Slim Shady wearing a shirt with the lyrics to his well-known song, “‘Til I Collapse,” reiterating that the New Jersey native is still at the top of his list, followed by JAY-Z, 2Pac, and Biggie.

Em famously rapped on the 2002 track, “I got a list, here’s the order of my list that it’s in/ It goes: Reggie, JAY-Z 2Pac and Biggie/ André from OutKast, Jada, Kurupt, Nas, and then me/ But in this industry I’m the cause of a lot of envy/ So when I’m not put on this list, the shit does not offend me.”

My Young Bro @eminem stay Repping and got his IT GOES REGGIE TEE!, wrote Redman in the caption of the photo he shared with Richmond Hood, a skateboarding shop in New York City. @Richmondhoodco. ONLY at Richmondhood.com. It’s an FAKE if it doesn’t have the Yellow Tag! Screw the ORIGINALS, I say.

In an interview with Redman in 2015, Eminem had discussed his enduring admiration for the musician.

Em remarked on Shade 45 at the time, “I was cleaning out my closet, pun intended, and ran across this old picture and shit.” “I thought, ‘What the fuck is that?'” Oh my god.” I came to the realization that the first time I visited New York, Bizarre and I actually traveled to Jersey to record with the Outsidaz.

And while I can’t recall the other people in the car with us, I do know Pace [Won] was there, and we ended up stopping at your place. So I think, “Oh, sh*t.” That is the photo I posted online on some fan stuff that I shot of your home’s back window. Holy sh*t, that’s Redman’s house, was the reaction.

You’re one of my favorite artists, too, Redman retorted. I’ll be here to support you as long as you keep doing what you’re doing, brother.

As for his favorite rappers of all time, Big Daddy Kane, 2Pac, Redman, Rakim, Naughty By Nature’s Treach, and Kool G Rap were mentioned by Eminem in 2020 along with Lil Wayne, J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, and Joyner Lucas.

“I rap to be the best rapper, but I’m not the only rapper who raps to be the best rapper,” he said in an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1. Joyner Lucas, Wayne, Cole, and Kendrick. They strive to be the finest rapper possible, and I believe that greatness is inspired when one pushes oneself to the limit. But sometimes you nearly have to sort the list by era, man.

Rappers like Rakim, G Rap, Kane, Treach, Pharoahe Monch, and KRS-One seemed to push some fresh shit that simply outperformed anything that had come before, according to 2Pac. Rakim then comes along and surpasses that.

“And then G Rap shows up and starts to surpass everyone else. Redman — Redman was, in my opinion, one of the most reliable musicians. He’s one of the most consistently amazing rappers who is still rapping today.
