Eminem’s daughter Hailie Jade has given birth to her first child, making the rapper a grandfather for the first time. Hailie shared the news on Instagram on April 4, announcing that her son, Evan Marshall McClintock, was born three weeks earlier.
The child’s middle name, Marshall, honors Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers. Hailie captioned her post: “Happy due date//3 weeks earthside little e [white heart emoji].”
Family and friends responded warmly. 50 Cent reposted the announcement, writing: “Congratulations. This is the best. WOW!” Eminem’s adopted daughter, Alaina, also commented, expressing pride and love for both Hailie and baby Evan.
Eminem found out about the pregnancy in a surprise reveal featured in the music video for his song “Temporary.” The video included family clips, and one scene showed Hailie giving him a Detroit Lions jersey with “Grandpa #1” printed on the back, followed by her showing him a sonogram.
In another post, 50 Cent reflected on the moment, saying: “Man, the baby is not a baby anymore. @hailiejade congratulations… @eminem man we getting old smh LOL.”
In an earlier interview, 50 Cent shared how emotional he felt attending Hailie’s wedding to Evan McClintock. He reflected on not having a daughter and described the ceremony as a powerful reminder of how quickly time passes.
“I told Em, ‘You said it was OK to cry, because I’m crying.’ I couldn’t believe it went that fast,” 50 Cent recalled.
