Westside Gunn has been forced to cancel the European tour he was about to start, which has cost him $50,000 in lost revenue.
The announcement was made on Thursday in an Instagram post by the rapper Griselda (January 12). Gunn apologized to the fans who will not be receiving a refund for their ticket purchases and noted that things “weren’t handled appropriately,” but he also pledged to return for a legitimate tour in the future.
“There was nothing more I wanted to do than to start seeing my supporters around the world,” Gunn began. “It’s def still a dream and I’m gonna work on it to still make it happen but unfortunately this time things weren’t handled right and that’s too far for me to be gone and something isn’t right and I’m somewhere I’ve never been and shit already not right now.
“I haven’t even been giving deposits so don’t even think I took y’all money,” he continued. “[People] out of $40 I’m out 50,000 I spent just on plane tickets!!! So I lost but GOD IS THE GREATEST and hopefully one day I’ll see everybody who’s reading this one day in life.”
