Drew League Celebrating 50th Anniversary, Will Exclusively Stream Drew Women’s League On Clashtv

A showcase for some of the top basketball players in the country, Drew League, a summer pro-am league centered in Los Angeles, is celebrating 50 years of operation. The Drew Women’s League games will only be broadcast on ClashTV over the summer thanks to a recently signed collaboration between Drew League and ClashTV.

An interactive live-streaming digital platform called ClashTV has unveiled a lineup of unique programming that features mixed martial arts coverage, cultural commentary, and, of course, basketball. End of June saw the announcement of a multiyear partnership between ClashTV and the Drew League, which will allow fans to watch live broadcasts of Drew’s Women’s League games while also accessing interviews, behind-the-scenes material, and video on demand through the ClashTV platform.

The cooperation between the Drew League and the WNBA, the top professional women’s basketball league, makes the pairing timely. The Drew Women’s League games are streamed live from King Drew Magnet High School in Los Angeles, California, on Wednesdays and Fridays. Among other notables, this season’s roster includes former WNBA players Essence Carson, Chelsea Gray, Kaleena Mosquada Lewis, Nicky McCrimmon, Noelle Quinn, Odyssey Sims, and Nikki Teasley. The final of the Drew Women’s League will be played at El Camino College in Torrance, California.

According to Drew League Commissioner Chaniel Smiley, “to be able to celebrate 50 years of Drew and 36 years of the women’s league speaks to the power and importance that basketball has in our lives.” “We are aware that men perform, but so do women. And it’s crucial to expose our teams to the world so that fans may witness their quality, ability, and guts. These players are of the highest caliber, and they serve as role models for everyone who enjoys sports. The fact that the Women’s Drew will take place throughout the summer at the same time as the Men’s Drew for the first time ever as part of our 50th Anniversary year makes this year especially noteworthy.

As Commissioner Smiley points out, the superb NCAA women’s basketball tournament, the expanding popularity of the WNBA, and other women’s leagues throughout the world are all contributing to the increased interest in women’s basketball. The Drew League hopes to join the debate about basketball every year by benefiting from ClashTV’s crucial modern-era boost.

The Women’s Drew League being streamed by ClashTV is significant because it not only demonstrates that the men’s league is the best ProAm, but it also promotes the women’s league as the best place for female competitors. We’re thrilled for the young women and girls who want to compete to now have more exposure to show off their talent to the public and have a platform that can also help them create second chance opportunities and awareness to continue playing basketball professionally or at the next level. Steph Rawlins, co-founder of Crossover Collective [OVR], the media, marketing, and brand agency for the Drew League, stated in a statement.
