Dre Supreme’s ongoing “Slept On States” series made a stop in Massachusetts this week, where the content creator reacted to local rapper Token’s latest freestyle, No Apologies. The episode continues Dre’s exploration of lesser-discussed hip-hop regions and puts a spotlight on emerging voices across the country.
“As we continue our ‘slept on states’ rapper tour we hit #massachusetts & wait a minute,” Dre wrote in the caption of the reaction video, before comparing Token’s delivery to “old school Eminem.” He closed with a call to his audience: “Music fam are we rocking with this 👀.”
The freestyle in question was posted by Token on Instagram shortly before the reaction aired. “FLOOD COMMENTS WITH 🔥🔥🔥,” Token wrote. “NO APOLOGIES FREESTYLE LINK IN BIO. I ALWAYS WANTED TO RAP ON THIS BEAT !!!! WHATS YA FAVORITE BAR ??? I SAID A LOT. GOT MORE TO SAY. ALBUM SOON. LOVE YALL SO MUCH !!!!!!!”
No release date has been announced for Token’s next album, but the freestyle and subsequent buzz suggest more music is on the way.
