Drake’s ‘$ome $exy $ongs 4 U’ Goes Platinum.

Drake’s latest album, $ome $exy $ongs 4 U, has gone platinum in the U.S., selling over one million equivalent units just three months after its release.

The Valentine’s Day release, a collaboration with PartyNextDoor, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Despite opening week sales of just under 250,000—among the lowest of Drake’s career—the album has remained in the top five twelve weeks later.

The single “Nokia” peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100, blocked from the top spot by Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s hit “Luther.”

Drake is already working on a new solo album. OVO artist Smiley said Drake was recording during the “Nokia” video shoot and skipped a party to write music alone.

Drake confirmed the news during a Kick stream with Adin Ross, saying, “Working on a new album right now… It’s a slap.” No release date has been announced.
