Drake Wins Top Rap Artist Over Kendrick Lamar At 2024 Billboard Music Awards

Drake was named Top Rap Artist at the 2024 Billboard Music Awards on December 12. The awards, based on Billboard Chart performance, also saw him win Top Rap Album for For All the Dogs and Top Rap Male Artist. He competed against Kendrick Lamar, Future, Metro Boomin, and Travis Scott for the Top Rap Artist category.

Kendrick Lamar received recognition as well, winning Top Rap Song for his track “Not Like Us,” a diss aimed at Drake. According to Billboard, Kendrick’s diss tracks generated significant revenue, with “Not Like Us,” “Like That,” “Meet the Grahams,” and “Euphoria” collectively earning $13.4 million. The track “Like That,” featuring Future and Metro Boomin, contributed $4.6 million, while “Meet the Grahams” and “Euphoria” earned $795,100 and $441,300, respectively.

In contrast, Drake’s diss songs “Family Matters” and “Push Ups” generated $981,300 and $969,400, totaling $1.9 million. These figures reflect revenue from streaming, digital sales, and publishing but do not account for personal earnings, which depend on the artists’ label and publishing deals.
