Drake has requested that Spotify provide musicians bonuses in order to recognize their contributions to the platform’s success.
On February 1, the Toronto rapper posted a video to his Instagram Stories to mark becoming the first artist in Spotify history to achieve 75 billion streams.
But Drizzy was more worried about his fellow artists obtaining huge payouts for attracting consumers to the streaming service than he was about basking in his prolonged domination.
“We should get bonuses like athletes to motivate the future artists to be consistent and competitive,” he wrote. “So feel free to send me a LeBron sized cheque I have enough dinner plates @spotify.”
