Drake’s fans are in a tizzy after learning that he wants “the old Drake,” or that old thing, to return as he announces a new album in conjunction with the release of his first poetry collection.
In order to advertise the book, Drizzy bought full-page ads in periodicals including the New York Post and Houston Chronicle. These ads included QR codes that directed readers to websites showcasing the upcoming project.
The declaration states, “I made an album to go with the book.” Don’t tempt me, they claim they miss the old Drake girl. IN FOR ALL DOGS. No additional information about the release, such as the title or drop date, was provided.
He incorporates words from his 2011 song “Headlines” into part of his statement. In the second single off his sophomore album Take Care, he raps: “I be yellin’ out, ‘Money over everything,’ money on my mind/ Then she wanna ask when it got so empty/ Tell her I apologize, happened over time/ She says, ‘They miss the old Drake,’ girl, don’t tempt me/ ‘If they don’t get it, they’ll be over you/ That new shit that you got is overdue.”
The Canadian singer requested assistance from fans on Instagram on Friday (June 23) while posting a picture of the book Titles Ruin Everything/A Stream of Consciousness by Kenza Samir and Aubrey Graham.
“I don’t know if I have ever wanted people to buy or support something more in my life,” Drizzy wrote in the description of the photo. Our first book will be out tomorrow on @drakerelated and at a few other special places.
