Drake Shows Love To His 'Lookalike' Steph Curry During Nyc Tour Stop

The viral moments on Drake’s It’s All a Blur Tour have been plenty, and this week in New York City, the 6 God shared a moment with Steph Curry.

On Monday, July 17, the Toronto hitmaker performed to a sold-out crowd at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center. He then took a moment to acknowledge his friend, a four-time NBA champion, who was standing next to him.

Steph was watching the performance in the VIP area with his mother Sonya, wife Ayesha Curry, and Drake when Drake pointed out their likeness and ordered the crowd to hug him.

“I brought my brother into the structure tonight. They claim that we are similar,” he stated. “Make some noise in the building once for my brother Steph Curry. Of course there is also the gorgeous Ayesha Curry. And, you know, mama bear.

Drake and Steph Curry have a close bond. The Golden State Warriors previously assessed him a $500 fine for traveling on the team jet with the point guard.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr described the incident in January 2021: “We were flying to L.A. after our home game and we all got to the airport and Steph [Curry] and Draymond [Green] weren’t on the plane at the departure time.” “Oh my fault, Steph remarked. Drake and Draymond and I were still at the arena.

The ability to occasionally bring a friend on a flight was part of our team policy at the time. Unbeknownst to me, Steph chose to give Drake one of his slots. Drake boarded the aircraft that evening along with Steph and Draymond, and I penalized all three of them for being late. Drake settled the $500 fine.

On his 2016 song “Summer Sixteen,” Drake also sung about “Golden State running practice at my house.” Steph Curry said there was some truth to the statement shortly after it was published.
