Drake marked Mother’s Day with a personal tribute to his mother, Sandra Graham, sharing a message on Instagram alongside several photos of her. In his message, he reflected on her influence not just in his life, but in the lives of those around him.
“It’s solely because of your relentless dedication that we are all here in this current day life setting,” he wrote. “You kept 30 or so young men on the right path since 2007 and encouraged us to take care of each other, which prompted us to form a new family that allowed us to become providers and bring joy and peace of mind back to the homes we all started at.” He concluded the post with: “Happy Mother’s Day from all the guys…to the kindest and most nurturing woman on earth. Forever Sandra’s Rose.”
This isn’t the first time Drake has publicly honored his mother. During a 2023 concert in New York, he performed his song “Look What You’ve Done” while sitting beside her onstage. The track, from his 2011 album Take Care, is dedicated to Graham and Drake’s uncle, Steve. The performance ended with a hug and visible emotion from Graham as the crowd responded warmly.
In 2022, Drake had his mother’s initials “SG” tattooed under his left eye. He later posted a close-up of the tattoo on Instagram, simply captioning it with her name and a heart emoji. The tribute joined a portrait of his father, Dennis Graham, which Drake got inked on his arm in 2014.
Sandra Graham’s name was also mentioned in Drake’s recent feud with Kendrick Lamar, who addressed her directly in the diss track “Meet the Grahams.”
