The first female musician signed to Drake’s OVO Sound label has been unveiled.
On Friday, January 20, Dutch/Caribbean artist Naomi Sharon dropped two new tracks, “Another Life” and “Celestial,” to which Drizzy’s longtime producer Noah “40” Shebib contributed the production.
After the albums were released, the singer of the popular song “Her Loss” posted a message on Instagram to officially welcome Sharon to his company and express his enthusiasm for her new music.
“@naomisharon I have been waiting for this day for too long now, where the world finally gets to digest the insane amount of work you have put in since we met,” he wrote. “My dear friend just dropped her single Another Life on OVO SOUND.”
With the caption “Words cannot convey how thrilled I am that I can finally share this news with the world,” Sharon congratulated Drake on her Instagram Stories. And I want to express my gratitude for this incredible chance.
Shebib also praised the newly-minted OVO singer, writing in his own Instagram post: “@naomisharon I’m honored to be a part of this journey. I’m so proud of you and can’t wait for the world to hear the rest of what you’ve been working on. New music out NOW! @ovosound.”
