Drake has begun his three-day Wireless Festival takeover in London, with footage showing the crowd reacting as he takes the stage. During the event, he greeted Kevin Durant and thanked UK fans for showing him more support than his hometown. Artists such as PartyNextDoor, Summer Walker, Burna Boy, Vybz Kartel, and others are also part of this year’s lineup. Earlier in the week, Drake called Adin Ross during a livestream asking if he should send a plane of streamers to the festival, to which Ross agreed.
Drake previously performed at Wireless Festival in 2012, 2015, and 2021. Upon arriving in London this month, he posted on Instagram Story saying, “the boy’s home.” His appearance follows the release of his new single, “What Did I Miss?” which debuted last weekend and quickly climbed to the top of Apple Music and Spotify charts. In the song, he addresses his recent feud with Kendrick Lamar and questions those who distanced themselves from him during it.
The track is set to debut in the top 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and is expected to appear on Drake’s upcoming ninth studio album. While no official release date has been confirmed, Drake previewed unreleased tracks during a livestream last weekend, telling listeners to expect the album in full “soon.”
