Doja Cat and SZA’s “Take Me Dancing” gained momentum on TikTok after Australian superfan Joel Houwen created a viral dance in September following the release of Doja’s Vie. When Doja Cat opened the Australian leg of her Tour Ma Vie World Tour in Perth on Saturday (Nov. 22), Joel was there, and she made sure to give him his flowers.
Before performing the track, Doja thanked Joel onstage for helping the song spread online and had her manager bring him a rose. Joel later shared the moment on TikTok, saying the interaction “means THE WORLD” to him.
Speaking with PerthNow, Joel said he was overwhelmed when Doja mentioned him by name. He’s now preserving the rose by drying it upside down before framing it.
The Tour Ma Vie World Tour will continue through Brisbane and Sydney before moving on to Asia in December.
