On Thursday (Dec. 26), rising rap star Doechii, also known as The Swamp Princess, teased a major new project with a clip posted to Instagram. Initially thought to be a music video for her fan-favorite track “Denial Is a River” from her Grammy-nominated mixtape Alligator Bites Never Heal, the teaser quickly revealed itself to be the trailer for her new sitcom, Denial Is a River.
Inspired by Family Matters, the show stars Doechii alongside a strong supporting cast, including comedian Zack Fox and rapper ScHoolboy Q. The series is set to premiere on January 2, 2025, at 3 PM PST on YouTube.
The announcement, shared on X (formerly Twitter), was accompanied by a post: “Denial is a Stream, Jan. 2 at 3 PM PST. Extravaganza Fcking coolest thing that’s ever happened on planet earth live on Youtube. Never been seen before and you have to make it there, and if you’re not there I’m going to sneak inside your bedroom and fcking kill you.” Fans are now anticipating the debut of the series, which promises to deliver laughter.
