DKG Kai Talks Fake Relationships, Fashion Fails, and Life Lessons on ‘What’s the Deal’.

Rising artist DKG Kai recently opened up on “TRSH Talk,” delving into the challenges of modern dating, personal style, what people misunderstand about christian rappers, the importance of prayer, being forced to wear FILA as punishment, his fashion opinions, valuable life lessons and much more! Kai got candid about navigating relationships in a social media-driven world. Kai highlighted the pressures of maintaining relationships in today’s social media landscape, criticizing the unrealistic expectations created by celebrity couples. “All these fake relationships, celebrity relationships… got everybody messed up,” he said, adding that the dating pool has become “trash” due to these warped standards. When asked if he would date someone taller than him, the 6’3″ artist was clear: “Absolutely not.” He humorously explained his preference for shorter partners, saying, “I ain’t trying to have no kids that go to the league that bad.”

Fashion plays a significant role in Kai’s life, especially as a native of Detroit. He shared that he can’t stand when a partner can’t dress well, admitting that a poorly dressed date could embarrass him. Kai also discussed how near-death experiences and run-ins with the law pushed him to get his life on track. Recalling the time he almost got killed, then almost went to jail a week later, he said, “If you experienced both of them in a week, you ain’t doing something right.” Reflecting on his biggest losses, Kai shared an embarrassing basketball memory where he was outplayed by an unlikely opponent, leading to a personal and public defeat.

When it comes to red flags in relationships, Kai admits he’s willing to overlook bad fashion. “We can fix that,” he laughed. But he’s more serious when it comes to men venting online. He urged grown men to stop using social media as a place for emotional outbursts, especially when taking a photo of their knee or a black screen to share long paragraphs about their struggles. Kai also emphasized the importance of starting his day with prayer, expressing how essential his faith is in keeping him grounded. “You gotta start your day talking to God… it just makes the day a lot better.”
