Def Jam Adds Kardinal Offishall As Global A&R

Def Jam Recordings has hired Kardinal Offishall as their New Global A&R, replacing him in a role he previously held at Universal Music Canada in a comparable capacity for a long time.

On Monday (January 9), the rapper shared a lengthy Instagram post in which he proclaimed his love for the Def Jam brand and hinted that he had already started working in this position.

“I feel incredibly blessed to be able to work with the new faces of Def Jam,” he wrote in a statement shared as a photo on his profile. “I grew up on all the legendary music that had a home here.” “From LL Cool J and DMX to Benny the Butcher and 2 Chainz, the company has an incredible legacy, and I’m looking forward to working with the new superstars as well as the incredible legacy acts.”
