DDG revealed to DJ Akademiks that he earned more in 30 days of streaming than from his Epic Records contract.
“For what I signed for, I made that in 30 days on Twitch,” DDG said, noting that his album moo sold 4,400 units in its first week. He added, “Streamers make more than rappers, a hundred percent,” pointing to the multiple revenue streams available to content creators.

During the weekend event, DDG also had a wholesome moment giving a 10-year-old aspiring journalist money for good grades and teamed up with PlaqueBoyMax to name Kai Cenat streamer of the year. He defended Kai when Akademiks suggested the streamer was only motivated by money, saying his marathon streams are about legacy and love for content.
