Daymond John, entrepreneur and Shark Tank star, hosted the fifth annual Black Entrepreneurs Day in Atlanta on Nov. 22. The event, held at the historic Fox Theatre, featured notable speakers like Kelly Rowland, Jordan Chiles, and Charlamagne Tha God. Mayor Andre Dickens issued a proclamation recognizing the event’s contributions to Black business empowerment.
Highlights included discussions on wealth management, brand-building, and financial stability. Olympian Jordan Chiles shared insights on navigating endorsements, while Flava Flav emphasized authenticity as a key to entrepreneurial success.
Three $25,000 grants were awarded to Black-owned businesses, including Salt Lake City’s Parfé Diem, fashion accessory line Gabby Bows, and Brooklyn-based eyewear company Vontelle. Sponsored by organizations like the NAACP, Hilton, and T-Mobile for Business, these grants bring Black Entrepreneurs Day’s total funding to over $1 million since its inception in 2020.
John created the event to inspire and support Black entrepreneurs with resources and opportunities, aiming to foster hope and success within the community.
