Daniel Caesar has revealed that his new album Son Of Spergy will arrive October 24 via Republic Records. Alongside the announcement, he released its second single, “Call On Me.”
Built around grungy guitar chords and Caesar’s falsetto, the track marks a bolder step in his sound. On the song, he reassures a romantic partner of his support, singing, “Whenever you feel your tummy rumble / Need something to eat / Whenever you feel your pockets empty / You can call on me.”
“Call On Me” follows last month’s single “Have A Baby (With Me).” Earlier this year, Caesar collaborated with Rex Orange County on “Rearrange My World” and “There’s A Field,” with songwriting contributions from Dev Hynes. He was also announced as a guest on Hynes’ new Blood Orange project Essex Honey, and reunited with Justin Bieber on the album SWAG, following their hit “Peaches.”
Son Of Spergy is set for release on October 24 through Republic Records.
