Create Music Group has partnered with Ty Dolla $ign and EZMNY Records in a new joint venture.
EZMNY was co-founded by Ty Dolla $ign and Shawn Barron, who originally signed the artist to Atlantic Records in 2012. The label’s roster includes Leon Thomas (in partnership with Motown Records), whose song Mutt became a breakout hit this year, as well as Bizzy Crook, rjtheweirdo, Saige Michael, and Keith Turner.
Barron described the deal as “a new chapter” for EZMNY, highlighting the alignment between their artist-first approach and Create’s infrastructure. Create Music Group CEO Jonathan Strauss praised Ty and Barron’s creative instincts, while Steeven Leblanc, Director of Business Development, said the partnership aims to equip EZMNY artists with tools to succeed at the highest level.
EZMNY’s General Counsel Helen Yu added that both companies’ independent success made the deal a logical next step.
Create Music Group, valued at $1 billion after raising $165 million in mid-2024, has since acquired Monstercat and Berlin-based !K7. It also launched a joint venture with Pack Records earlier this year.
