Conway The Machine hasn’t ruled out working with André 3000 or Lauryn Hill in the future since he can’t be stopped from reaching for the stars.
The former Griselda MC uploaded a clip from an interview he did with Peter Rosenberg and Cipha Sounds for Juan Ep is Life on Monday (July 17). His choice of the OutKast and Fugees alumni as his ideal collaborations can be seen in the Instagram crop, but “not on the same song.”
Conway declared, “I shoot for them all,” publicly requesting retaliation from the two legends. If you’re listening, “Queen Lauryn, my brotha Three Stacks,”
He uploaded a portion of his song “André 3000,” which was included in Conway The Machine Presents: Drumwork The Album, on the second slide of the same Instagram post.
In the song, he raps, “I was uninspired for a minute, but this brought me back/ I’m an OutKast like Big Boi, but I’m more Three Stacks/ I might retire and play the flute, I’m so bored with rap,”
Killer Mike apologized last month for declaring André 3000 was working on new songs, claiming he was “stoned out of his mind” at the time.
The Run The Jewels rapper said that his prior claims were grossly exaggerated and that Three Stacks did not have a new album on the way during an Atlanta interview with V-103.
Mike remarked, “I was stoned out of my mind playing, joking with y’all. The joke was taken way too seriously by you guys. However, André 3000 is always producing songs. He is always producing songs. So I had an opportunity to hear a lot of interesting things… I do know where you can listen to Dre, though. Right now, an album called Michael is available. Dre, Future, and Killer Mike are present.
After being asked on Sway In The Morning if André was cooking up anything, Mike responded: “Yeah, I think we fly out in a couple weeks to go listen to it.” This led to the clarification.
He noted that although André 3000 hasn’t yet put out a solo album, he has already heard roughly nine pieces of unheard music. Idlewild, an OutKast album from 2006, was his most recent offering.
In a different interview, Killer Mike also claimed that the two of them had another collaboration on which André raps for roughly seven minutes.
“One time, Killer Mike and André played me a record. I’m not even kidding; this is one of the best musical recordings, period, that I’ve ever heard in my life, according to Charlamagne Tha God. During Killer Mike’s latest appearance at The Breakfast Club, Tha God pushed the song. It’s incredible. What you guys are doing on this record is beyond my ability to describe.
In response, Killer Mike said, “There’s another Killer Mike and Dre feature, and all we have to do is make this album hit No. 1 and make the guys from the label really, really happy, and I’ll be back next year. Seven and five minutes, or almost 12 minutes. Raps that are stacked last longer. You get to rap longer when you’re attractive because all the girls like you.
Three Stacks made an appearance on “Science & Engineers,” a song from Killer Mike’s Michael album, where he raps with Future and Eryn Allen Kane.
