After lighting up D.C. with a packed house and relentless energy, COCO is coming home — and it’s coming big. Presented by BVD Boston, Blndco, Downtown Boston Alliance, and Real Never Fades, the first-ever COCO Block Party is set to take over Summer Street Plaza in Boston this Sunday, July 27, from 2 PM to 7 PM.
Following a D.C. stop described by organizers as “nonstop heat—no cool down, no mercy,” the Boston event promises a full day of music, movement, and unmistakable Afro-Caribbean flavor. If D.C. was the warm-up, Boston is where the city gets claimed.
The open-air celebration promises a full day of nonstop culture powered by the global sounds of the diaspora — expect a mix of reggae, soca, amapiano, and afrobeats pulsing through the heart of Downtown Boston. The COCO Block Party will feature DJs, live performances, local food vendors, and curated cocktails — all under the open Boston sky. It’s designed to celebrate culture through sound, rhythm, and community.
On the food and drink side, local favorites like @everybodygotta_eat, @thepearl.boston, and @shojoboston are tapped to serve everything from bold bites to island-inspired cocktails.
Tickets are available exclusively through @posh.vip, and early arrival is strongly encouraged. According to organizers, this isn’t just another city event — it’s a cultural reset. One that aims to bring together Boston’s diasporic communities in the heart of the city, with no velvet ropes and no dress codes — just sound, sweat, and shared space.
