'cocaine Riot 7', The Latest Posthumous Album By Chinx Estate, Surprises Their Fans.

This month marks the eight-year anniversary of Chinx’s passing, and his estate is marking the occasion with a surpise posthumous album.

Cocaine Riot 7 is scheduled to appear on May 12—just five days before the rapper from Queens’ passing anniversary on May 17. Chinx’s estate shared a reflection on the loss and the significant amount of posthumous music that has come out since in an Instagram post.

“As we approach the 8th anniversary of the passing of slain rapper Chinx, his estate and management team have been hard at work to release a surprise new installment titled Cocaine Riot 7,” they said. The previous CR6 album, which included 12 tracks, was published in December 2021 on the rapper’s birthday anniversary.

“The #1 Coke Boy hasn’t been short on street heat as these ventures came in the wake of the rapper’s 2015 and 2016 debut albums, Welcome to JFK and Legends Never Die. Each song has been carefully created to withstand the test of time, demonstrating Chinx’s ageless flow, machine-like work ethic, and continued dominance.

“There is no better way to honor his legacy than to continue to feed the streets with his prolific presence,” they wrote, “while the family awaits a conviction on individuals involved in his murder.”

Each time we sit down to work on a project, I can’t believe how much work was put in to attain his ultimate goal of releasing the debut album, wrote his manager Douglas “Biggs” Ellison in a statement. After eight years, we have not only launched the first album but also continue to provide the public with today’s timeless pearls.

“CR7 is no different,” he continued. “This is authentic Chinx chatting to the fans! I’m so happy that his music allows him to live on. filtering out the noise. What tremendous achievement!”

2015 saw the shooting and death of Chinx (actual name Lionel Pickens) in a drive-by shooting in Queens, New York. He was 31. On Thanksgiving Day of last year, his longtime buddy and partner French Montana spoke about how he thinks he would rank among the Top 5 MCs if he were still alive on an episode of WE tv’s Hip Hop Homicides.

French praised Chinx’s work ethic and stated that he “knew what it took” and was excellent at “switching his flows” and “knowing how to adapt.”

French went on to say that he believes Chinx was a greater rapper than he was, before listing his pal as one of hip-hop’s elite. He declared, “He was 10 times better than me.” “Because he noticed all of my errors. Like the better version, he was. Man, Chinx would be in the Top 5 if he were still alive.

The 2015 murder of Chinx resulted in the arrest of two gunmen. Chinx was allegedly slain by Quincy Homere and Jamar Hill in 2009 due to an argument that occurred while both men were detained at Rikers Island, according to New York Police lieutenant Richard Rudolph.

Homere and Hill were detained and charged with second-degree murder, second-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault, and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon in December 2017, more than two years after Chinx’s passing.
