Chris Brown Earns 21 New RIAA Certifications 20 Years After First No. 1 Hit.

Chris Brown has received 21 new certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), marking another milestone in his two-decade music career. The new awards were issued on June 6 and include several of his most well-known songs. “Loyal” and “Forever” each reached 8x platinum, while “Kiss Kiss” and “Go Crazy” both earned 6x platinum certification. “New Flame” and “Deuces” were certified 4x platinum.

Additional tracks that earned certifications include “Back to Sleep,” “Don’t Wake Me Up,” “Grass Ain’t Greener,” “Don’t Judge Me,” “Next to You,” “Residuals,” “No BS,” “Drunk Texting,” “Hope You Do,” “Beg for It,” “Who’s Gonna,” “Till I Die,” “2012,” “Should’ve Kissed You,” and “City Girls.” These certifications reflect ongoing listener interest across Brown’s catalog, which spans multiple albums and collaborations.

This round of certifications follows Brown’s third diamond award, which he received in May for the single “Look at Me Now” featuring Lil Wayne and Busta Rhymes. That recognition came on his 36th birthday, May 5. In the United States, diamond certification is given to songs that have reached 10 million units sold or streamed.

Brown is also preparing for his Breezy Bowl XX stadium tour, which begins June 9 in Amsterdam. The European leg of the tour will be followed by U.S. dates, with the first show scheduled for July 30 in Miami. The tour is expected to feature a mix of longtime hits and newer material.

In May, Brown was arrested in the United Kingdom on suspicion of grievous bodily harm in connection with a reported nightclub incident from February 2023. Initially denied bail, he was later released after posting a $6.7 million bond on May 21. His release allowed him to move forward with the planned tour dates.

Chris Brown’s certifications and touring activity come 20 years after he first topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart. A video celebrating his career highlights and chart achievements was released alongside the RIAA announcement.
