Chance The Rapper has made a different video for his most recent song, “YAH Know,” in honor of Black revolutionaries who have had an effect on history.
On Friday (February 24), Chance shared the complete video to YouTube, Twitter, and Instagram as part of his “Black History Month effort,” as he dubbed it.
This Black History Month, we want to recognize some of the most significant gains we have made as a People. The new video, officially titled “YAH Know (Historical Context Version),” begins with the following message. Several revolutionaries and their revolutions are highlighted in this video.
The video clip plays forth a series of images and recordings from Black people’s history in Africa and the diaspora.
Chance’s initiative highlights both lesser-known and more well-known personalities from Black history, putting Marcus Garvey, Fred Hampton, and Mohandas Ghandi alongside Sarah Elizabeth Ray, Kwame Nkrumah, and Nandi Azikiwe.
