Chance The Rapper Declares 'Star Line Gallery' The 'Best Next Album' In Rap

Chance Although he is confident that the album’s tracklist will generate buzz, The Rapper has a lot riding on his upcoming release.

The Acid Rap hitmaker confidently teased his upcoming album on Saturday (July 22), stating on Twitter: “It’s merched I got the best next album outta all the niggas that have a next album [three weeping emojis].”

Chicago slang for “proven” is “merch,” thus Chance seems to be certain about who will release the next great record. This is an especially bold statement given that his most recent album received negative reviews from both fans and the media.

However, since then, he has released a number of popular singles and a collaborative collaboration with Jeremih, making a significant comeback via the impending Star Line Gallery possible.

The Chi-Town native called in to Audacy Check In in early June to give an update on the sequel to 2019’s The Big Day.

In terms of writing and creative vision, it’s one of my proudest achievements, he remarked. There is a tremendous lot of work that needs to be done. But it’s fantastic because I believe that the care and thoughtfulness put into each actual work of art allows me the chance to show people in these museum spaces what I’m working on as I go, the highs and the lows, kind of like a preview to the project.

Chance and Vic Mensa’s festival in Ghana has the same name as the record. Early in January 2023, the Black Star Line Festival was held at Accra’s Black Star Square, also called as Independence Square.

He explained the underlying meaning of Star Line Gallery in an interview on Sway in the Morning from last year.

Marcus Garvey inspired me in the early 1900s, from 1919 to 1922, or 100 years ago now, he claimed. “He founded and managed this crucial, essential shipping line. He bought and funded a fleet of ships with funds from regular Black people, including these enormous ocean liners the size of cruise ships.

“However, what he did with it was he established a trade route between the United States, all of the Black islands, and the continent of Africa, and that created a network of people where people from all over the world were connected and working with each other, taking trips together, and creating this connectivity that didn’t exist before,” he continued.
