“CENOBITE” RELEASED BY CAMP BLOOD

"CENOBITE" RELEASED BY CAMP BLOOD

If there was any silver lining to be found in the absolute muddle of incompetence, corruption, injustice, and sheer stupidity that was 2020, perhaps it is this: in a more profound and prolific way than any year in recent memory, the meager bandage that is covering the fetid, infected wounds of our society has been exposed.

Reading that introduction should have given you a hint as to what band we’re going to be talking about today if you’ve been paying careful attention to Boston music for the past two years and some change: Day of Camp Blood

The duo, who initially straddled the lines of industrial rock, metal, and hip-hop before grabbing a piece of chalk and drawing their own lines beyond what a simple fusion of those components might amount to, are back with “Cenobite.”

The demon characters from the now-iconic movie Hellraiser and its subsequent franchise are probably referenced in the song’s title. You know, “Pinhead,” the guy with the pins in his head. In light of this, it may be simple to presume that Camp Blood is referring to itself as a cenobitic group.
