Cash App Adds Apple Pay and Google Pay Support to Group Payments with New Pools Feature

Cash App has introduced a new peer-to-peer group payment feature called Pools, which now supports contributions via Apple Pay and Google Pay. The tool allows users to set up and track group payments seamlessly.

With Pools, our customers now have a dedicated, easy-to-use solution for group payments,” said Cameron Worboys, head of product design at Cash App. “They can start a pool to collect the money in seconds, and then instantly transfer the funds to their Cash App balance when it’s time to pay.

While other apps like Venmo and PayPal offer group payment tools, Cash App’s Pools is unique in letting users contribute directly with Apple Pay or Google Pay.

To use the feature, users can create a pool with a target amount through the payment tab, invite members, and track contributions. Payments can then be transferred to the organizer’s Cash App balance once ready. This helps avoid confusion over who has or hasn’t paid.

Currently, the Pools feature is available to select Cash App customers and is expected to roll out to all users in the coming months.
