Cardi B Says New Album Delay Is Due to Pending Features.

Cardi B addressed fans in a recent Instagram Live, revealing that the delay of her long-awaited sophomore album isn’t due to her own decisions but to incomplete guest verses. The rapper, whose debut Invasion of Privacy was released in 2018, expressed her frustration while also emphasizing her respect for the artists she’s collaborating with.

“I really need these f–king features,” she said during the livestream. “I’m not trying to press these artists because I love them, but I need those verses. I need them now!” Cardi suggested she might even record the missing parts herself if needed but made clear that she still hopes her collaborators will follow through.

In a March 31 conversation on X Spaces, Cardi previewed that the album features a small group of artists—some she’s worked with before, and others who will be new to her catalog. “It’s gonna really, really surprise y’all,” she said, adding that she’s excited about the mix of familiar and new voices.

Though Cardi admitted she struggles with confidence in some areas, she told fans she feels strongly about the quality of the new record. She described the reactions from her team as deeply emotional, saying they were moved by the music and told her the album has “no skips.”

“The production, the words, the rap—it’s really there,” she said, affirming her belief that the album will make a lasting impact. While she hasn’t named the featured artists or shared a release date, Cardi emphasized that the music is complete and that she’s waiting only on those final guest contributions.
