Cardi B says her long-awaited second album is nearly here and will sound different from what fans might expect. In a new interview with Billboard, she described the project as “messy” and said she’s “100 percent confident” in the direction it’s taking.
“There’s gonna be things that people do expect from me and then there’s gonna be things that are not expected,” she explained. “It’s a lot of lover girl things too. I’ve been heartbroken, I’ve been loving again, and I’m exploring again.”
The album’s title and release date have not yet been revealed. A few weeks earlier, Cardi also spoke on Twitter Spaces, hinting at strong but limited features. “Some are artists I’ve worked with before, and some I haven’t. The ones I haven’t are going to surprise y’all.”
While fans await new music, Cardi has also been in the headlines due to ongoing tension with Offset. This week, he posted and deleted a tweet implying BIA’s claims about Cardi’s alleged infidelity might be true.
