Cardi B and Offset aren’t letting the end of their marriage stop them from celebrating important moments together, like their son Wave’s third birthday. The two superstars recently threw an airplane-themed party for their second child and shared photos from the event on their Instagram Stories. Their daughter, Kulture, who was born in 2018, also joined the celebration. While the adult guests enjoyed dishes prepared by chef Franklin Rosario, the younger attendees were treated to burgers from MrBeast Burger.
Cardi’s decision to file for divorce from Offset for a second time was reported by TMZ on August 1. According to the report, Cardi’s decision wasn’t related to cheating rumors that have surrounded their seven-year relationship. A source close to the couple mentioned that the divorce filing had “been a long time coming,” and that Cardi and Offset have been growing apart for some time. Earlier this year, the couple made an effort to reconcile but couldn’t work through their issues.
Despite the split being described as amicable, Cardi has reportedly hired a high-powered divorce lawyer and is seeking primary custody of their two children, six-year-old Kulture and two-year-old Wave. The couple got married in September 2017 after dating for a few months, but their honeymoon phase was short-lived due to a cheating scandal involving Offset.
Their relationship hit another rough patch late last year when Cardi B revealed she had been “single” for some time. On Instagram Live, she expressed her desire for a fresh start in 2024, saying, “I want to start 2024 fresh, open. I’m curious for a new life, for a new beginning. And yeah, I’m excited! New look, new life, new everything.” She added, “I’ve been going so hard for 2024 to go directly as I want it to. I feel like in 2017, I was single, and that’s when I worked the hardest.”
